Calpe by Numbers……
Who do you know that rides a bike and doesn’t like numbers? Thought so, so here you go. I have put together a combination of ‘riding by numbers’ and ‘living by numbers’.
This is what happened over my trip from 5th January to 6th March…
Distance Ridden – 3,056 miles
Money spent on dishwasher tablets - 50 euros
Time in the saddle - 180 hours
Tennis balls bought and lost over the fence - 15 balls
Vertical Climbed - 263,000 feet
Favourite, favourite Bars – 2 (1st place to Tango, then Café 11)
Calories Burnt - 131,810
Number of Guests, served with a smile - 20
Longest ride - 155 miles
Longest stay by a guest - George Clark at almost 6 weeks
Highest average speed - 23 mph
Average guest stay - 8 ½ days
Most used climbed - Coll de Rates (too many to remember – oops!)
Number of guests who were sick or injured – unfortunately 4
Most elevation gained in a single ride - 12,400 feet
Pools of Vomit I had to clear up - 1 (Cheers Liam…!)
Punctures for me during my 3,056 miles - 0
Number of Guests who left early (of their own accord!) - 2
Number of tyres I need to replace - 1
Food costs - easily 700 euros….(not worth thinking about!)
Number of chains worn out - 2
Big Gas Bottles used to heat our Villa - 5
Jockey wheels (but technical, sorry!) replaced - 2
Number of beds changed - 24
Sets of Shifter hoods (and again!) worn out - 1
Number of time I collected someone from a Benni connect bus stop - 7
Brake cables replaced - 1
Most expensive night out - meal bill (per person) of 25 euros
Crashes by people at the villa – sadly 4 but all survived
